AGENDA ITEMS:
1-Establishing a framework for global AI governance and ethical regulation
2-Redefining the global power balance in a multipolar world
Under Secretary General: Ayşe Sarı
Academic Assistant: Nevra Akın
The G20 comes together at a time when the world is changing faster than ever. Advances in artificial intelligence are reshaping economies, governments, and global security. While these developments offer real opportunities, they also raise serious concerns about ethics, accountability, and regulation. At the same time, the international system is moving toward a more multipolar balance of power. Traditional centers of influence are being challenged as new actors gain greater voice on the global stage. This shift brings the potential for cooperation, but also the risk of heightened competition and instability. In this environment, the G20 has a critical role in encouraging dialogue and coordinated action. By addressing AI governance alongside evolving power dynamics, the G20 can help guide the international community toward a more stable and inclusive future.

The case we will be assessing throughout the committee will be the case of The Prosecutor v. Dominic Ongwen. Dominic Ongwen served as a Brigade Commander of the Sinia Brigade, where he carried out acts common within the LRA, such as murder, torture, rape, and mutilations aimed primarily at Acholi communities, as well as abducting tens of thousands of children over the years to use for forced exploitation and child soldiers.
