H-SPECPOL is one of the most critical subcommittees of the United Nations General Assembly, directly addressing colonial legacies, self-determination, and special political issues. The decolonization process of Africa began in the mid-20th century and fundamentally transformed the global political order. Production models inherited from the colonial era, the externally dependent use of resources, and international power dynamics have directly influenced the decision-making processes of newly established states. In this committee, delegates discuss the international recognition of post-colonial African states, the dismantling of inherited economic dependencies, and the construction and strengthening of independent national economies.
AGENDA ITEM: Recognition of newly formed African states and ensuring their economic independence.
